The pioneering oeuvre of the French artist François Boucher was visionary and highly esteemed during the Rococo period. His works are through and through idealistic nature. In the sketches and drawings, which can exist in addition to its luscious painting, women are also - preferably bared and in a flirty pose - to see. Boucher celebrates erotic femininity in a sophisticated manner: he artistically explores the beautiful female bodies with a passion that was almost inactive at the time and, with allegorical precision, can dramatically depict the sensuality of a mere act. Boucher was the star of the absolutist monarchy. His patrons included King Louis XV and his lover Madame de Pompadour. No wonder, because even today Boucher's works of art are as bewitching and almost carnivally tangible explorations of beauty as they are at the time of the decadent Rococo weddings. © Meisterdrucke |
