In 1502, Albrecht Dürrer painted the famous hare. There is some speculation about how the picture was made. Some believe that he first sketched wild rabbits and painted the details of a dead specimen, others say he caught and kept the rabbit. The hare served as a model for the first chocolate bunnies, is the prototype of the Easter Bunny. There are several reasons why the Dürrer Hare is so popular. On the one hand, he is very well hit. It looks like you could stroke the soft fur. In addition, the picture reveals something about the nature of the animal. When a person relaxes, he can forget the world around him, an escape animal can not. The Dürer hare has set his ears and is always ready to jump up and run away. The picture is also significant in terms of art history, because you only see the hare. Until then, animals were always packed in religious pictures. But this rabbit is just a hare. This has shaped the art of the Renaissance. © Meisterdrucke |
