Fillets are slim, elegant mouldings used as fine accents either directly in the frame or within a passepartout. They create an extra refined border and give your artwork more depth and presence—without drawing too much attention.
Often, a well-chosen fillet brings a subtle colour accent or delicate highlight to the piece. This clearly defines the transition between passepartout and artwork, making the overall impression more harmonious and sophisticated. Especially with classical motifs or premium fine art prints, a fillet can make all the difference.
To select a fillet, you must first choose a decorative frame. If no fillet option appears for your selected frame, the frame's rebate depth or other properties make it unsuitable for fillets.
If you choose a passepartout, the fillet option will automatically appear. Please note: When you select a fillet for a passepartout, we install a so-called "spacer"—a thin, transparent strip inside the frame. This creates extra depth and prevents the fillet from touching the glass.
Whether subtle or bold, fillets offer creative possibilities. We are happy to advise you to find the perfect finish for your artwork.
