Wassily Kandinsky - “In Grey”, 1919
Art reproduction on canvas in the “Amelie” frame
In this version, Wassily Kandinsky’s “In Grey” from 1919 appears as a multi-layered composition poised between dissolution and a new beginning. Shapes, lines and fields of colour float in an open pictorial space without coalescing into a fixed representational form. Kandinsky, one of the most important pioneers of abstract art, sought in such works a visual language that no longer derived from visible objects, but from inner movement, rhythm and tension. The grey does not appear empty, but rather as a mediating space in which colours and forms relate to one another.
The reproduction measures 49 × 35 cm and is executed on Leonardo (Satin) canvas. The satin finish faithfully reproduces the subtle colour gradations, the graphic lines and the serene depth of the composition. The motif is mounted on a stretcher frame and continues in a mirrored pattern at the sides, giving the edges of the picture a seamless appearance.
The work is framed by the classic “Amelie” decorative frame in black with gold. With a width of 18 mm and a height of 26 mm, the abstract composition is given a clear, high-contrast frame. A discreet hook-and-eye hanging system completes the design unobtrusively.
