Konstantin Bogajewski - “The Ships, the Evening Sun”
Art reproduction on canvas in the “Amelie” frame
In this version, Konstantin Bogajewski’s ‘The Ships, the Evening Sun’ appears as an atmospheric coastal and harbour scene bathed in the light of the setting sun. The ships lie peacefully within the picture, whilst the evening sun bathes the landscape, water and sky in a subdued, almost dreamlike atmosphere. Bogajewski, a Russian painter of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, often combined real impressions of the landscape with a symbolically charged, almost dreamlike visual language. Consequently, this motif, too, appears less like a mere view and more like a quiet recollection of light, distance and transience.
The reproduction measures 60 × 48 cm and is executed on Leonardo (Satin) canvas. The satin-finished surface faithfully reproduces the warm tones, the gentle transitions and the painterly depth of the motif. The motif is mounted on a stretcher frame and continues in a mirrored pattern along the sides, giving the edges of the picture a seamless appearance.
The work is framed in the ‘Amelie’ frame. A screw-mounted serrated hanging system discreetly completes the finish.
