Anselm Feuerbach - “The Mandolin Player”, 1865
Art reproduction on canvas in a “Luisa” gold frame
In this version, Anselm Feuerbach’s “The Mandolin Player” from 1865 appears as a calm, self-contained portrayal of a figure. The painting depicts a figure with a mandolin, whose posture and expression suggest inner concentration rather than outward movement. Feuerbach, a significant German painter of the 19th century, combines classical formal rigour with a melancholic, often quiet atmosphere in his works. Here, too, the effect arises from the clear composition, the restrained colour palette and the dignified presence of the figure depicted.
The reproduction measures 48 × 62 cm and is executed on Leonardo (Satin) canvas. The finely textured, satin-finished surface faithfully reproduces the soft transitions, the calm modelling and the painterly nuances. The motif is mounted on a stretcher frame and continues in a mirrored pattern at the sides, giving the edges of the image a seamless appearance.
The work is framed by the classic ‘Luisa’ decorative frame in gold. Measuring 76 mm in width and 53 mm in height, it lends the composition a striking, historical frame. A concealed serrated hanging mechanism discreetly completes the design.
