Raphael’s ‘Diotalevi Madonna’ possesses that serene unity which makes his early Madonna paintings so special. The Baroque decorative frame “Cheyenne” in ornate silver adds a striking accent to the small devotional image. Measuring 100 mm in width and 37 mm in height, it makes a deliberate statement and lends the delicate composition a solemn setting. A serrated hanging mechanism completes the design.
