Károly Ferenczy - “Athletes”
Art reproduction on canvas in a gold frame, ‘Fenja’
Ferenczy’s ‘Athletes’ focuses on the body, posture and concentrated movement. The figures do not appear to be casual studies, but rather carefully composed forms in space: tense, composed and yet calm. Károly Ferenczy, a central figure of Hungarian Modernism and co-founder of the Nagybánya artists’ colony, combined the observation of nature with a clear, colour-sensitive style of painting. Here, too, the effect arises from the interplay of physical presence, light and compositional order.
The reproduction measures 25 × 36 cm and is executed on Leonardo (Satin) canvas. The satin finish enhances the subtle transitions and lends the figures a calm, gently luminous presence. The motif is mounted on a stretcher frame and continues in a mirrored pattern along the sides, so that the edges of the picture appear seamless.
The classic ‘Fenja’ gold frame, measuring 33 mm in width and 27 mm in height, adds a warm accent without overloading the clear figure study. A concealed serrated hanging mechanism discreetly completes the design.
