Claude Monet - “View of Vétheuil”, 1880
Art reproduction on canvas in a “Marta” frame
In this version, Claude Monet’s ‘View of Vétheuil’ appears as a tranquil riverside landscape in which the setting, light and atmosphere blend together. The painting depicts the view of Vétheuil on the Seine, a place where Monet spent several important years of his life. Houses, riverbanks and water dissolve into soft colour transitions, whilst the landscape appears less as a fixed architectural view and more as an impression of a particular light. Monet, one of the leading figures of Impressionism, sought in such subjects the interplay of colour, reflection and fleeting perception.
The reproduction measures 60 × 48 cm and is executed on Leonardo (Satin) canvas. The satin-finished surface faithfully renders the subtle tonal gradations, the loose brushwork and the tranquil atmosphere of light. The motif is mounted on a stretcher frame and continues in a mirrored pattern along the sides, giving the edges of the picture a seamless appearance.
The work is framed in the classic ‘Marta’ decorative frame in antique silver. Measuring 22 mm in width and 21 mm in height, the frame discreetly complements the cool, tranquil colour scheme. A screw-mounted serrated hanging mechanism discreetly completes the design.
