Edward Lear - “Blaulatzara (Ara ararauna)”
Art reproduction on canvas in a “Sinead” frame
Edward Lear’s “Blue-collar” comes to life through the bird’s alert presence. The parrot sits calmly on the branch, yet the crisp linework, the vibrant blue and yellow of its plumage and the delicate leaves surrounding it lend the motif a lively energy. Lear, now often known primarily as a writer, was a keen observer of nature and produced numerous studies of animals and birds in the 19th century. His depictions combine scientific rigour with a strikingly sensitive, almost personal closeness to the animal.
The reproduction measures 26 × 41 cm and is executed on Leonardo (satin) canvas. The satin-finished surface faithfully reproduces the fine lines, the light areas of colour and the tranquil composition. The motif is mounted on a stretcher frame and continues in a mirrored pattern along the sides. An additional 3 cm wide border gently frames the image, lending the zoological illustration a touch more tranquillity.
The “Sinead” frame complements the botanical and zoological illustration with its understated wood-effect finish. A screw-mounted serrated hanging system completes the design.
