When you move through the picturesque landscape of Lower Silesia, you experience scenarios similar to what is depicted in this painting. Here, rolling hills and wide green spaces dominate, and the surroundings alternate between forests and conifers, which often line the slopes of the Jizera Mountains. The sky often stretches wide and confidently over such scenes, disappearing as an endless blue river into the distant horizon. The landscape often shows untouched nature, depending on the exact location, and yet there is constant movement in this supposed stillness of remoteness. In this fictitious landscape, we have added a watercourse, inspired by the impressions of the surroundings. The water symbolizes not only constant movement, but also the eternal cycle of life. There is no stagnation in this landscape either. Politically, the Silesian Land has belonged to different peoples, nations and ethnicities over the centuries, and its history reflects this diversity.
