Alex Terla’s work *Black or White* presents itself as a fascinating and complex network of lines on cardboard. Despite its title, the composition skilfully breaks up the strict monochrome scheme and introduces deliberate splashes of colour: A bright red circle in the upper section, a striking red zigzag line along the right-hand edge, and warm, ochre-yellow and orange curves lend the image a vibrant dynamism. The dense, overlapping black lines form the supporting framework, complemented by delicate hatching, dot patterns and geometric elements such as triangles. In the lower right-hand corner, the stylised shape of an eye can also be glimpsed, lending the abstract, graphic work a subtle, surreal element. An expressive and rhythmic work of art that invites the viewer to discover its details.
