Painting Frames "Traudi" |

| Traudi is a slim picture frame with a maple veneer, glazed in white and finished in a warm cream-white colour. The fine wood grain remains visible beneath the glaze. As a result, the surface does not appear to be covered in a solid coat of varnish, but rather has a calm and slightly lively appearance. The matt finish softly reflects daylight without creating harsh glare. The profile consists of a clean, almost square rib, 20 mm wide and 20 mm high. The flat front guides the eye in a straight line around the artwork, whilst the internal rebate creates a slight sense of depth. This understated form follows in the tradition of modern 20th-century gallery and exhibition frames. Such profiles were chosen particularly for prints, photography and works on paper, as they provide the image with a precise boundary without evoking a specific decorative era. In contemporary architecture, Traudi offers a subtle contrast: against exposed concrete, its cream-white colour softens the austerity; next to steel, the visible wood grain adds a touch of warmth. Against white walls, however, it blends almost flush with its surroundings. We are happy to recommend it for minimalist architectural photography or delicate botanical drawings. It looks its best when both the image and the space are characterised by clean lines and understated colours. |
