Painting Frames "Heidrun" |

| Heidrun combines dark blue with a warm golden inner edge. The brushed finish reveals fine lines and irregular lighter patches. Depending on how the light falls, the blue appears at times deep and calm, and at other times with a slightly lighter sheen. The gold, too, remains understated: it does not gleam across the entire surface, but catches the light in narrow, lively streaks. The 30 mm wide and 24 mm high profile is made of solid wood. Its outer zone is wide, clear and only gently textured. Towards the picture, there is a slightly recessed, rounded gold strip that acts as a visual threshold. It gathers the light directly at the edge of the picture and draws the eye inwards, whilst the dark blue provides a calm backdrop for the subject. This structure is reminiscent of colour-painted frames with gilded visible edges, such as those used since the Renaissance to set paintings spatially apart from the wall and their surroundings. Heidrun translates this principle into a simple, contemporary form. We particularly recommend this frame for seascapes or graphic works featuring shades of ochre, blue and grey. It looks its best in our collection when the artwork contains individual warm highlights that subtly echo the golden inner edge. |
