After these journeys, he settled in Amsterdam. He found happiness in his marriage to Margarita Gysels, the daughter of the engraver Cornelius Gysels, on 25 April 1664. This nickname was probably due to his habit of always looking for details in his garden. They worked together on paintings of the Vijverhof garden, which became part of Agnes Block's collection of garden albums.
