Canvas Matte
Canvas Florenz
As a unilaterally coated fabric with a pronounced, natural structure and typical irregularities, this canvas is an excellent medium for art prints in a particularly authentic quality. The matt surface without any reflections has a typical hue in natural white, which is the case with artworks. In addition, Canvas Florence has a convincing haptic quality with almost 400 grams per square meter and tear-resistant 2:1 cross-rib weave.
The Florence canvas is excellently suited for graphics, such as hand drawings (charcoal, graphite, silver pencil or pencil), as well as for art reproductions with a thin or even transparent application of paint as in Edvard Munch, Egon Schiele or Wassily Kandinsky. Oil paints were mixed differently in the different schools and traditions of the Old Masters painting. Also, the 'dry' effect of Spanish oil painting (Zurbarán, Velázquez) makes therefore on the completely matte ground of the screen Florence particularly well. Bright subjects and motifs on the matte ground are more advantageous and more suitable than the all-too-dark and color-intensive paintings with old-masterly pastose and oily glossy paint application. We therefore advise against dark paintings onthis canvas.
