Claude Monet (1840 - 1926), the painter of luminous landscapes and of light, created a painting with "Poppy field", which was to become one of his most popular. Of course, this was unthinkable when he showed it in 1874 at the first exhibition of the so-called Impressionists. Nadar, the photographer, writer and patron of the arts, had provided Monet and associates such as Edgar Degas with his former studio. "Poppy field" originated in Argenteuil, where Monet lived for several years. The eponymous poppy coins large parts of the picture with its dabbed, typically red flowers. Like waterfalls, the flowers, swaying slightly in the summer breeze, pour over the left side of the hill. The contours of the trees and bushes, which form the strong, continuous background line, appear slightly dissolved. The casually holding a parasol in the front of the front should be Monet's first wife Camille, next to the son Jean.

Monet's painting "Poppy Field at Argenteuil" is not particularly high in contrast, even in the original. I remember seeing it at the Louvre (where it hung until 1986). The print on photo matte paper is just right, not too light and not too dark. Nevertheless, I would have liked a touch more saturation so that the poppies stand out a little more. But it shouldn't be too much, which is something you sometimes see with the prints on offer. Here, you should discuss exactly how you want the picture with the service. This works very well at MeisterDrucke. I should have said so beforehand. The finish itself is, of course, very good again.
